Andrej Karpathy
Andrej Karpathy is a computer scientist, an OpenAI co-founder, and the former Director of AI at Tesla.
On this wiki he is the originator of vibe coding, a term he coined in a February 2025 post on X to describe generating and running code by describing intent in natural language and “giving in to the vibes” for quick, throw-away projects. His earlier “Software 2.0” framing anticipated the shift the wiki tracks under Citizen Coders. The autoresearch pattern this vault’s research loop is modeled on also traces to his work.
